PAKISTAN says it shot down two Indian warplanes right now in its airspace in Kashmir in a terrifying escalation of tensions between the 2 nuclear-armed nations.
Military spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor stated the Pakistan air power had shot down the jets after they crossed the border whereas two pilots have been captured.
One of the captured pilots is in custody whereas the opposite is being handled in hospital, Pakistani authorities have confirmed.
This comes after India carried out air strikes towards Pakistani militants yesterday in Balakot – positioned in a distant valley in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The strikes adopted a suicide bomb assault on February 14, involving a automotive full of explosives, on an Indian safety convoy in Pulwama which left 40 troopers lifeless.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale stated members of the Islamabad-linked militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) – which claimed accountability for the assault – have been focused within the air strikes.
Today Major Ghafoor confirmed through Twitter that Pakistan had responded by gunning down the 2 planes.
He stated: “PAF shot down two Indian aircrafts inside Pakistani airspace”…
